Victoria's Quilts

Deborah Wood, CFP, CLU, a Diamond Member of CMDRT and our President is seen here snuggling up with Kathy Yach and Heather Hannaford of Victoria's Quilts when she travelled to Ottawa to present them with a grant cheque for $1,611.65.
Victoria's Quilts was founded by Betty Giffin in October 2002 with a volunteer base of 12 people willing to knit quilts for people with cancer. That first year they distributed 16 quilts. This inspirational idea has quickly grown to include 800 volunteers, with 42 branches across Canada, and the organization distributes over 300 quilts every MONTH to brighten the lives of people dealing with cancer.
Since 2002 Victoria's Quilts has distributed over 10,000 quilts. This year's grant money will allow these wonderful volunteers to provide an additional 200 quilts.
