Habitat For Humanity, Kamloops, B.C.

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller as a Christian organization helping families in need to be able to own a home.
In 1985 Habitat for Humanity Canada (HFHC) was founded and has dedicated more than 640 homes from coast to coast. There are 59 affiliates in all 10 provinces helping to eliminate poverty housing.
In 1999 a dedicated group of people started a Steering Committee and founded the Kamloops Habitat affiliate (HFHK).

The long term goal is to eliminate substandard housing; Our Mandate, describing Millard and Linda's dream, still applies today. "To provide affordable and adequate housing for God's people in need by mobilizing local communities, volunteers, and material and financial resources in wide-ranging, inclusive partnerships and to support, encourage, and empower those affiliates to build affordable homes in partnership with needy families".
