ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development

What started as an informal group of parents of children with disabilities starting their own organization back in 1971, has now grown to be the largest Children's Treatment Centre (CTC) in Ontario, caring for almost 9,000 children annually. Disabilities include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism, down syndrome and traumatic injury. As one of 20 accredited CTCs in Ontario they provide medical assessment and treatment, and additional programs to support the families of these children, for kids from birth to age 19.

The funding provided by CMDRT was used to help support the continuation of the ErinoakKids Independent Living Program, which helps teenagers who are approaching mandatory discharge from ErinoakKids care to be better prepared for the demands of life as an independent adult.
