Founded in 1910 as the first community-based non-profit social service agency in Toronto, University Settlement has provided assistance to recent immigrants settling in downtown Toronto, to low-income children and families, and to people who live and work in the downtown area. the need is great, and their services range from language classes, daycare services, recreation services, after school programs, and Out Of the Cold services for the homeless.
In this picture, Don Kibblewhite is supported by youth of University Settlement at the presentation of a Million Dollar Roundtable grant to help fund the Youth and Cops Basketball Program.
